Catching the Bus

Liz Ann, her sister Jane, and one staff person took public transportation into town on Saturday. She said it was great to overcome the anxiety of that initial launch into the world of public transportation. They had lunch downtown. She really enjoyed the outing and the accomplishment. She’s added water therapy to her many types of PT and said it felt good to move in a swimming pool. She remains spunky and very busy. Glenn will be visiting again this weekend.

Keep sending her that upbeat heal-and-get-strong energy!

Also...Bobby Jo wrote a fundraiser update today:

With the contribution from AleWorks, a grand total of $10,925 was deposited in the LizAnn Kudrna Benefit Fund from the 9/21/08 benefit day events. Thank you again for all who participated, helped spread the good word, and made a donation of any kind. A HUGE thanks as well to AleWorks for their generous support and to Susie Walby and Mel Koontz for their hard work and organization.

Hi Liz Ann - tomorrow will be your one month halfway point in rehab - congratulations. By now you know things that you never imagined having to know, such as ICP and BP and digistim and transferring etc. Great, huh? :^(

Meanwhile, back in sunny, but not for long, Teton Valley, Port, Alberto, and Stuart continue with the ANSR work (Active Nervous System Recruitment), and we put a new sign up in the gym: Three out of three! If "they" want statistics, we'll give 'em statistics! All three men are using the FES bike, the stander/glider, and the Total Gym, and soon we hope to have a gait trainer. Just today Jill said she thinks it may be time for our own parallel bars, too.

We are small but very mighty!!

You sound like you are doing so well, squeezing everything you can use out of the place. The last 4 weeks will fly, unless of course they don't.

Enjoy your weekend with your sweetie! Keep the faith!

Hi Liz Ann,
SO great to hear you are out and about town! Sounds like you are having adventures, working hard, and getting very strong.

We're proud of your graceful spirit, and your hard work ethic of mind and body strength.

We think of you often and wanted you to know that we had delicious Cannellini Bean soup with Tiramisu the other night in honor of you. We have started to serve this meal when we have dinner guests, and folks always ask, "Where did you get the idea for this delicious soup?".

Well, it was from you of course, and we always answer, "From our friend Liz Ann!"

Keep up the happy vibes, and great mobility surprises.

Loads of love to you. Mark and Carlen Hervig
